Students prepare to walk 20 miles to support Kenyan school

Students from Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge are preparing to take on a 20-mile sponsored walk in support of Grace Academy School in Nakuru, Kenya, where they will be volunteering later this year.

Planned and led by the students themselves, the walk is their final major fundraising activity ahead of the visit. They chose a walking challenge to reflect the reality that, in many rural settings in Kenya, children travel long distances to school on foot every day – an effort they want to support.

The 20-mile route takes in 5 Maiden Erlegh Trust schools. Starting at Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge the students will walk to River Academy, Maiden Erlegh Reading, Hamilton School and Maiden Erlegh School, before returning the same way.

Funds raised will be directed to Grace Academy School through African Adventures Foundation.

You can support the students by cheering them on their way on March 12, sharing and liking the social media posts about the walk and sponsoring them.
