Q: What is your role?
A: Behind the scenes operations and compliance.

Q: You were identified for Team Talks by your colleagues. Why is this work important to you?
A: I was contacted following a values in action nomination for Aim High. For me, that’s quite important because during my time at Cranbury College I’ve accomplished things I wouldn’t have thought possible many years ago. Many factors have made that possible, from the support at a school level and working with colleagues who inspire me to aim high, to the professional development opportunities available. When those around you aim high, it makes you want to do the same.

Q: What motivates you to keep pushing this work forward?
A: My motivation is the students. You don’t have to work directly with students to support their education. Operational staff play an important role by helping everything run smoothly so staff and students can focus on learning and achieving their goals.

Q: What has shaped your approach? What have you learned along the way?
A: The Cranbury College team. We climb the mountain together and everyone plays a part to get us to the top.

Q: Which MET value connects most strongly to your work and why?
A: Aim High. Cranbury College is all about high expectations for students and staff.

Q: What advice would you give to colleagues interested in similar work?
A: Take advantage of all the professional development opportunities available. There’s no limit to learning.

Q: Any final reflections?
A: I wouldn’t be able to submit this without giving a shout out to all the staff at Cranbury College. Our work changes lives.

Thank you, Abbie, for sharing your work with us in this Team Talk.
